My handmade sugar skull pottery mugs make unique gifts for day of the dead, or for any skull-lover. Each drink cup is individually handcrafted, hand painted with underglaze, and is a functional piece of ceramic pottery. Each piece is unique. This piece has drippy brown, copper, and black glaze over subtle sugar skull images, with a patina green base.
Once the clay is bone dry, I fire to bisque in my small home studio kiln. Bisque firing takes about 13 hours. Once the bisque firing is complete, the final glaze is hand painted, allowed to dry, and then fired again in the final stage (another 10+ hours).
The photo shows the actual piece you will receive. Expect slight variations and perfect-imperfections, as each is made by hand.
In order to prolong the durability, I recommend hand washing with mild detergent (like Dawn).
Dishwasher and microwave safe.
The glaze is food safe, lead-free, and non-toxic.
Do not pour boiling water, as thermal shock could occur.
Ceramics should be treated with care, as it can break, chip, or crack if dropped.
